Antique metamorphic mahogany library chair, English Regency circa 1810, after a patented design by Morgan and Sanders, Catherine St, London – a chair that converts into library steps. They were first built in the mid-18th century for the private libraries and offices of the European nobility or the Bourgeoisie. Great color and patination.

Light wear consistent with age and use, Partially restored, Minor losses, Structural damages. Short legs of ladder have been replaced. One hinge badly replaced and should be renewed.
