Spanish Baroque pair of wood and natural fiber footstools. Very probably handmade sometime around the late XVII C. or early XVIII C. They are in the style of the Baroque Castilian and Catalan furniture.
They look great next to a side table, or close by to the sofas or sitting areas so you can use them as small side tables for coffee or drink trays, or as book stands.
They have been treated with wood repair special oil and properly waxed and polished.
The darker one seems chestnut wood and there is a natural wood crack on the top of one of the legs (see pictures). The crack has been filled in with a special wax for this porpoise.
They are strikingly beautiful in the hand.
