1940’s Large French Oak Atelier Cabinet – Tambour Fronted. Exceptionally well made French Oak Atelier cabinet which came from a lawyers offices in Alsace. The bottom section is tambour fronted with doors that slide smoothly to each side and wrap around inside to be hidden. Inside is one fixed shelf. The top section is also tambour fronted vertically with large oak handles, revealing twenty four beautiful clappet fronted sections, each with a turned knob, that pull down for access. This piece is reminiscent of Stolzenberg and was made by skilled craftsmen. We have gently restored the cabinet and all clappets and tambours work smoothly. The piece divides vertically in two in the middle for ease of handling. Clappets inside 30l x 37w x 10h (cm). Bottom cupboard 40l x 107w x 35cm height both top and bottom.
