An Italian Baroque style mirror, the rectangular mirror plate set within a giltwood and facetted glass border and a further blue-glass and mirror glass border displaying arabesque ornaments painted in polychrome oil paint. The whole flanked by a scrolling foliate border and surmounted by a shaped giltwood, blue-glass and engraved panel cresting. The engraving depicts a Doge’s coat of arms with the ‘Corno Ducale’, the ducal hat which symbolised the Doge’s office.
This mirror has been designed by incorporating not only Murano stained glass but elements of 18th century origin achieving true luxuriance and magnificence.
