A scarce Baroque Period European antique hand carved and painted wood santo altar figure, 17th/18th century, the religious folk art sculpture depicting Madonna of the Immaculate Conception, with heavily distressed patina over the whole, having remnants of gesso and polychrome pigments, resting on a later / unassociated stepped molded long hexagonal wooden base, typical loss to hands, overall a superb museum quality example.
