A baroque period iron armada strongbox, or traveling safe, in its original condition, showcasing a beautiful natural patina.
This coffer is richly decorated with small polychrome landscape scenes depicting houses, animals, people, etc. It features fully functional iron mechanisms, hardware, and a key, all sitting on the original stand. The safe opens with the press of a ‘button’ (see photo), and it includes carrying handles on each side.
Originating from either Holland or Germany, this piece dates back to the period of 1680-1720
