For those who enjoy the fine quality of blue and white German porcelain from the middle of the last century, this is a particularly fine example. On a white porcelain ground, hand-painted and applied with leaves and flowers, the clockcase and flanking five light candelabra are exhuberantly modelled with scrolls, pierced, and applied with youthful figures suggestive of spring. We did not find a mark but these seem to be very much in the Meissen taste.
The clock face is decorated with Roman and subsidiary Arabic numerals and is in good and unrestored condition. The movement is in working order.
