A super quality sliver chest or strong box, the chest is made by Mappin and Webb and intended for world travel, it is banded in metal with double inset carrying handles at each end and with double locking bands we do not have key (sorry), it has an interior stay to hold the lid open
The chest was painted in Italy in the Baroque style, in striking black and ecru, with the metal banding in gold, the chest is very sturdy and sound the paint now has a distressed finish but still a very exceptional piece
A wonderful rare piece will stand alone or in any interior design
The box measures 42” wide x 26” deep and stands 25” high
