This refined mirror was made in Venice, Italy, in the eighteenth century and has the characteristic decoration of the Venetian Baroque.
The mirror, in carved and gilded wood, has an oblong structure with a mixed centina and an important openwork cymatium with decorations carved with phytomorphic motifs with volutes and curls. In the center there is a glass decoration engraved with a figure related to mythology, presumably Dido abandoned.
Mercury mirror.
This mirror is very elegant and of great decorative impact. It is easily placed in different environments, such as living rooms, studios, corridors and entrances or bedrooms. Very nice combined with modern furniture, has an important stage presence. It can be thought over a console, a fireplace or a sideboard but also resting on the ground or hanging as a single element of decoration.
