A polychrome Dutch tile with the decoration of an orange flamed tulip.
This tile with a very large tulip was painted during the Tulipmania when tulips were as expensive as a canal building and were a sign of wealth en prosperity.
Painted with French lilies (fleur de lis) as corner decoration.
Beautiful thick tile with strong colours.
The tile is in very good condition, with only the normal wear and small chips according to age.
