Exceptional Contemporary Design
The Chess table and Chess set arise from blowtorch-burned pieces of flat metal, objects from an improvised outcome of spontaneous making. Without molds, detailed drawings, or defined ideas, Joost and his team improvise with great speed and action. By cutting thick steel plates roughly with a torch, welding them together, and hand-painting in black and white, the Chess table and Chess set become strong characters.
