Buffet Two Bodies with Clock, of Vendean origin.
The upper part presents on each side an identical composition, namely three niches: naked for those at the bottom, with moulded bars for those at the top. Their frames are also worked, and the high cross pieces are Chantournées.
In the middle, an openwork door opening by a brass knob, is decorated with a Cut Acacia Sculpture, representing the Gothic Catholic Warheads. It houses a Brass Lyre Pendulum, in working order.
This set is summoned by a Generous Pediment, with Serrated and carved Side Brackets in windings. In the center, a Cornice in Gendarme’s Hat marries a small glass door containing the head of a Clock. The latter is embellished with a religious scene in Brass, depicting four figures and a sheep.
The lower part of this Two-Body Sideboard is composed of two doors with Cherry wood panels and Ash wood frames. They have Brass entrances and working locks with keys. The interior is equipped with a shelf on fixed slats. In belt, this piece of furniture has two drawers. The one on the left is equipped with a pull handle fixed on a floral motif, the one on the right has an escutcheon-shaped lock entry. All these trimmings are original. A last drawer is hidden in the middle of the two others. It is unveiled by means of a pushbutton accessible from the inside of the lower part.
The Vendean origin of this Two Body Sideboard distinguishes it from its counterparts. We are in the presence of an Atypical Furniture which combines Library, Tableware, Sideboard and Clock Comtoise. The perpetual swaying of the latter will give Life to your interior, and will rhythm time with a pleasant flavor of Yesteryear.
