Sterling silver frame in Baroque style called Cartagloria.
The Cartagloria was used starting from the sixteenth century.
The Cartegloria was placed on the altar, usually inside a wooden or silver frame, which shows some Latin formulas of the Roman Missal which are part of the ordinary of the Mass and therefore normally invariable.
The Carteglorie were used by the priest to remind him of the formulas to be recited, particularly if the liturgy was at the moment that the book of the missal was at that moment far from the altar.
Now back in fashion as a baroque photograph holder for our homes, the Cartagloria is suitable for prestigious houses in style, to be placed on an antique piece of furniture, or, less often, to be hung on the wall.
The frame is shaped and decorated with scrolls typical of the Baroque period.
In the upper part, in the center, there is a smooth coat of arms where we can engrave initials, noble coats of arms or other.
In the silver plate the finish is shiny and burnished, to highlight the workmanship.
The back is in solid hand-made wood that follows the shape of the silver embosse sheet positioned in the front of the object.
The space for photography has a maximum width of cm. 24 and a minimum of 18 cm
