Vintage Ebonized Black Rattan Bergere Rocking Chair from Thonet

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely small vintage Thonet Rocking armchair with ebonised black frame and rattan seat Originally designed in the 1800s with elaborate curves and handwoven cane seat and back, this chair is an iconic piece of style design and craftsmanship I’m not sure of the exact age, it is not a very early model and it is not brand new, it is somewhere in between In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be some movement in the frame from age Dimensions Height 79cm Width 51cm Depth 93cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
