Pair of twisted columns in polychrome lacquered wood decorated with branches and gilded flowers. They rest on molded bases and end with Ionic capitals connected by a frieze of ovals.
Often used in the baroque period, we can find similar ones on the baldachin of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. This form can also be called Solomonic columns, because they would have decorated the temple of Solomon of Jerusalem.
